Michael Gomez (Cal Poly Pomona) has earned the SBL pitcher of the week honor. Gomez hurled 11 innings this past week for the Inland Valley Pirates and allowed no earned runs for a 0.00 ERA, while striking out 11. Gomez was electric against the OC Surf on Monday tossing five innings and striking out six in an 11-3 win. He backed that up with a stout six shutout innings against the Ventura County Pirates on Sunday, while striking out five and only allowing three hits. 

Jake Singer (Notre Dame) earned the nod as the position player of the week. Singer finished the week 11-for-23 (.478 BA) for the Solana Beach Cardinals. Singer belted in nine RBI and scored nine times, while also bashing one home run and five doubles this week.
