LA MIRADA -- The So Cal Shepherds (4-1, 4-1) rebounded nicely after their first loss of the season yesterday with a doubleheader sweep of the Signal Hill Oilers (2-4, 1-3) on Thursday at Biola University.

The Shepherds won the first game 6-4 in a tight contest.

Austin Caulk blasted a home run and two RBI. Chad Ragland (Florida State College of Jacksonville) knocked in two.

David Rivera (Long Beach City) had two hits and one RBI. Braxton Hutcherson (Cypress College) went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

The second game wasn't close with the Shepherds taking a 6-0 lead by the third inning. They went on to win 14-1.

In a game with many offensive heroes, Brett Cobb (Cisco Community College) paved the way.  He blasted a home run and finished 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Sebastian Dunn (Florida State College of Jacksonville), Chad Ragland and Clayton Espino (Kansas Wesleyan) each contributed two RBI.

Rafeeq Rahim ripped in the lone RBI of the day for the Oilers.

Both teams are off Friday, but will take the field again in SBL doubleheaders on Saturday.

The Shepherds host the Sliders at Biola, while the Oilers travel to Amerige Park to face the Inland Valley Pirates.
