LA MIRADA -- The South Bay Sliders (3-3, 2-2) and the So Cal Shepherds (5-2, 5-2) split a doubleheader Saturday at Biola University.

Game 1 featured a pitcher's duel with the Sliders getting the best of the Shepherds 1-0.

Aiden Majerus was electric, tossing five innings, striking out four and earning the win. The South Bay bullpen followed in suit, hurling four shutout innings, while only allowing one hit.

Roy Washburn (Arizona Christian) got the tough luck loss. The Shepherd starter went seven innings, struck out six and allowed one run.

The lone run was scored in the third inning when Cody Wissler knocked in his Chico State teammate Eddie Zavala.

The Shepherds avenged their loss in Game 2 by the tune of 11-2.

Austin Caulk blasted a home run and four RBI.

The South Bay Sliders have a non-league contest against Southern Nevada on Sunday.

The So Cal Shepherds have the whole week off and find themselves back in action on Saturday at home against the Orange County Legends.
