IV and VC Pirates Split

VAN NUYS -- The Ventura County Pirates and Inland Valley Pirates split a doubleheader on Saturday at LA Valley College.

In Game 1, Inland Valley used a six-run second inning to cruise to a 6-3 win.  

Tyler Van Marter (University of Antelope Valley) ripped a three-run double. Keola Viloria (University of Antelope Valley) finished 2-for-2 with one RBI and scored once.

Ventura County reversed the fortune in Game 2, winning by a final of 16-1.

Ethan Durant (Glendale Community College) tossed five shutout innings and allowed no hits.

Frank Garriola (Hope International) blasted a grand slam. Eddie Pietschmann (Chaffey College) had three knocks and three RBI. Two was Keaton Glover's (University of Pacific) lucky number as he produced two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.

Ventura County hosts the Orange County Legends Sunday.

Inland Valley has a doubleheader with the Solana Beach Redbirds at Amerige Park on Sunday.
