The California Cage Rats are in their second season in the Sunset League. While the first season saw a limited schedule due to the pandemic, the Cage Rats are eager to show why they will compete for a Sunset League championship in 2021.

It starts with a few of their key returning players. Matt Costopoulos (UC Davis) should be a middle of the lineup type of bat. He played in every Cage Rat game last season. Kyle Doughner (Westcliff) is another impact player from last season. Doughner hit .400 in his six games last season. Michael Fletcher (Bethesda) was solid on the bump last season with a 3.39 ERA and led the team in innings pitched.

Other impact players include: Tido Robles (Azusa Pacific) and Michael Mulkey (Indiana State).

The Cage Rats open their season on Tuesday, June 15 against the Trosky Red Birds.
