WESTMINSTER -- The Long Beach Legends (3-1) defeated the OC Pirates 8-5 Sunday at La Quinta High.

The Legends faced a 4-0 deficit early on, but had a great comeback win. The five-run 8th inning proved to be the difference in the game.

Noah Amenta (Campbellsville) and Hank Schineller (Irvine Valley) both ripped two RBI. Amenta had three hits.

Michael Flaherty (Grinnell) earned the win. He allowed just one run and struck out two in five innings of work.

The Legends go head-to-head with the Inland Valley Buccaneers on Tuesday.

The Pirates (3-0, 4-1-2) will take on the Signal Hill Oilers on Tuesday.

Adam Aguirre crushed a home run for the Pirates. Jeffrey Ray Jr (Chico St) and Aidan Ross each had two hits on the day.
