CERRITOS -- The #1 OC Pirates defeated the #4 Arroyo Seco Sentinels 6-2 in the second round of the Sunset League Playoffs Tuesday at Cerritos College.

The Sentinels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the OC Pirates answered with six runs.

Michael Pineiro (Point Loma) crushed a home run. Cade Liefer (Cypress College), Alex Moreno (Concordia) and Travis Hobbensiefken (Mt. SAC) each contributed one RBI.

Joel Martinez (Fullerton College) tossed five innings, struck out seven and earned the win. Casey Spencer (SJSU) tossed three hitless innings, struck out six and earned the save.

The Pirates advance to Game 6 tomorrow at 1 p.m. against the #3 East LA Dodgers. The winner of that game goes to the Sunset League Championship Series. If the Pirates lose, they'll play Game 7 at 4 p.m. against the winner of Game 5.

The Sentinels have an elimination game Wednesday at 10 a.m. against the #2 Ventura County Buccaneers. The winner of that game will advance to Game 7 with a spot in the Sunset League Championship Series on the line.
