Inland Valley Pirates' Brent Cota & Chris Ceballos Named Best of the West League's Player & Pitcher of the Week - Welcome

Best of the West League:

Through the first 11 games, the Inland Valley Pirates have set the bar of excellence in the Best of the West League.

At 9-2, the Pirates have four more wins than the second-place Ventura County Pirates.

IVP has been getting timely hitting and solid pitching, and this past week was no different.

Brent Cota, Inland Valley Pirates:

Cota went 7-for-12, with a double and scored four runs.

The former Alta Loma High/Mt. SAC outfielder drove in a pair of runs and stole two bases.

Cota is batting .407, and along with Conner McKinney, has a team-high 11 hits.

Chris Ceballos, Inland Valley Pirates:

On Saturday, the former Charter Oak High/current Westmont College pitched faced 15 batters.

And the 2021 Valle Vista League MVP retired all 15, including four via strikeout.

For the week, Ceballos went eight innings, allowing one earned run on four hits, walking one and striking out nine.

Ceballos is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA.
