Arroyo Seco Sentinels Sweep Long Beach Legends After Late Comeback in Game Two; Jesse Espinoza Plays Big in Both Wins

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels swept the Long Beach Legends in Friday's Best of the West League doubleheader.

In game one, the Sentinels scored three runs in the top of the fifth and held on for the 3-1, seven-inning victory.

Jordan Townley got the win, allowing one run on six hits over five innings.

Townley didn't issue a walk and fanned nine LBL batters.

Coleman Mitchell closed out the game with two perfect innings in relief.

Mitchell didn't walk a batter and struck out two.

Olin Snakenborg singled and scored for LBL.

Declan O'Hare went 2-for-2, while Nick Lopez doubled.

Michael Flaherty and Adam Stevens singled.

Donovan Smith got the loss.

Smith went 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits.

He walked four and struck out a pair of Sentinels' batters.

A pair of La Sierra High grads played big in the win.

Jesse Espinoza doubled in two of the three Arroyo Seco runs and scored once.

His buddy, Taer Rodriguez, walked, singled and scored.

Tommy Castillo walked, singled and scored.

Bryce Cerminelli had an RBI single in game one.

Jake Trabbie walked and singled.

In game two, the Sentinels scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to secure an 8-6 victory.

With the game tied, the Legends scored three times in the top of the eighth inning to take a temporary three-run lead.

Jesse Espinoza got the win, going 1 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings.

He walked three and struck out two.

Nick Lopez walked twice, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

Hank Schineller doubled, scored and had an RBI.

Ryan Guerrero singled, doubled, scored and drove in one run.

Sean Lovett got the loss after surrendering five runs on seven hits over two innings.

Lovett didn't issue a walk or register a strikeout.

Tommy Castillo walked, singled three times, scored and stole two bases.

Jason Givens went 2-for-4, with a double, two runs and a pair of RBIs.

Alex Bueno singled twice and had one RBI.

Antonio Andrade doubled, had an RBI and scored one run.

Taer Rodriguez singled, scored and drove in a run.

Bryce Cerminelli singled in a run.

PCC teammates Matt Rice and Jake Trabbie walked, singled and scored one run each.

Josh Chavez went 2-for-4 and scored.

Cam Slessor had an RBI groundout.
