The Ventura County Pirates (4-0) won a wild one on Tuesday night against the Arroyo Seco Sentinels. The Pirates came out on top 12-11 after a five-run eighth inning!

Arroyo Seco scored 10 of its 11 runs in the first four frames and took a 10-2 lead, but a scrappy Pirate crew continued to chip away at the lead. They scored twice in the sixth, three times in the seventh and four times in the eighth.

Jake Selco knocked in three RBI and Darren Kriz contributed two.

Tyler Dietrich had a game-high three base hits.

The Pirates have had a great non-league season against quality competition and now look forward to their next challenge on Friday against the OC Surf, the defending champs in the SBL. Ventura County will host the game at 5 p.m. at LA Valley College.
