Inaugural Home Run Derby Participants

Aguilera, Benson, Hager, Luna, Moore and Pacheco Participate

The 2017 SBL All-Star Game will feature the first ever Home Run Derby at 5:45 p.m. Thursday night at Cal Poly Pomona.

Each team will have one representative in the field.

The North division leading Ventura County Pirates will send Myles Hager (Cal State Monterey Bay) to the competition.  Hager is tied for the most home runs this season with three. He boasts a .553 slugging percentage.

The Inland Valley Pirates  give the call to Benny Aguilera (Citrus College). Aguilera has one bomb in 20 at-bats. 

The South Bay Sparrows will feature Allen Pacheco (Compton College) in the Home Run Derby. Pacheco is hitting .500 with an incredible .700 slugging percentage.

The South division leading Solana Beach Cardinals give the nod to Michael Benson (Arizona). Benson is hitting .400 on the season and also has a .533 slugging percentage.

The OC Surf's Cooper Moore (Cal Poly Pomona) will participate as well. Moore has two homers on the season.

Finally, the OC Orioles send Nathan Luna (East LA College) who has notched one long ball this season.
