The Ventura County Pirates are the defending North Division champions in the  SBL and are hungry for more in 2018. Ventura County fell 1 game shy of their ultimate goal - winning the SBL last season, but this year the Pirates are poised to take home not just a regular season title, but a postseason one as well.

Ventura County will be led by six D-1 players. Hunter Konecny-Pena (Pacific) will stabilize the infield. Prior to Pacific, he was a scholar-athlete and an integral part for Chatsworth High School's run to the D-1 Championship game.

Ben Grunberg has committed to Loyola Marymount and will patrol the outfield this summer.

Loren Franck will join Grunberg at Loyola Marymount. Franck will hold down the hot corner.

Middle Infielder Connor Rodriguez is a third LMU player who will contribute for the Pirates. He will be joined in the middle by Grant Victor (ELAC), who hit over .300 as a freshman this past season.

Gabe Gonzalez (Mission College) will provide power. The first baseman crushed nine bombs this past season as a freshman.

Another first baseman for the Pirates will be Jason Ajamian. He's fresh off a stellar season at Pasadena City hitting .327.

Ellis Stevens is a sophomore from Chaffey College, who figures to be a major factor in 2018. Stevens has already crushed a grand slam in the first week of the season en route to a seven RBI game.

Josh Arkin (College of the Canyons) will be a multi-faceted player for Ventura County both pitching and catching for the swashbucklers.

The pitching staff will be led by Jesse Galindo (Mission College) and southpaw Justin Hirschberg (Occidental).

Cole Kriger (La Salle) and Christian Walton (Pennsylvania) round out the stacked roster in 2018.
