NORTH

Long Beach Legends (16-2)

Where do we start with the Legends? To say 2018 has been legendary is an understatement. The boys in the baby blue have stifled the opposition.

Long Beach has 9 of the top 10 strikeout pitchers in the SBL. All-Star Garrett Rennie (Long Beach City College) leads the way with 32. Not far behind him with 31 is Reid Sebby (Cypress). The third most strikeout victims (30) have come from the arm of Dylan Baird (Saddleback).

Chase Ambrose (Georgetown) has literally been untouchable. In 19 1/3 innings, he's posted a 0.00 ERA! He has 27 strikeouts and two saves as well.

Will Anderson (Westmont) has a microscopic 0.90 ERA.

Tyler Wilber (Long Beach City College) is leading the league in batting average (.482), hits (27) and runs scored (19). His 15 RBI is tied for 4th.

Aaron Takacs (Montreat) and JT Navarro (Chico State) each have 16 RBI for the season, which is tied for second.

Signal Hill Oilers (9-9)

If getting on base is the name of the game, the Oilers have two perfect players for you.

David Rivera  (.522 OBP) and Ryan Guerrero (.514 OBP) have the two highest on base figures in the Sunset Baseball League. That is scary! That means the two reach base more than one out of every two times they come up to the plate. Both play for Long Beach City College.

Ismael Martinez (Georgetown) is third in the league with 23 hits.

Zachary Rivas leads the team in RBI and is 8th overall.

Matt Stearns (Long Beach City College) has been the ace on the bump. He's posted a microscopic 0.75 ERA to go along with 24 strikeouts in 24 innings.

Ventura County Pirates (8-9)

Pirate hitters have been forcing the opposing pitcher to walk the plank all season long. The team features major pop in the middle of their lineup from Ellis Stevens (Chaffey College) and Gabe Gonzalez (LA Mission College). Gonzalez leads the SBL in home runs with six. He also scored 18 times, which is the second most in the league. Stevens, the All-Star Game MVP and two-time player of the week has five long balls of his own to go along with a league high 22 RBI.

All-Star Jesse Gallindo (LA Mission College) has been the ace of the staff. He leads the SBL in innings pitched with 32. He also has the 6th most strikeouts with 28 and has posted a healthy 2.25 ERA.  He also leads the league with five wins. Jerald Murray (Glendale Community College) has tossed the second most innings of anyone this season with 30 1/3. Murray also has 22 strikeouts and a 2.97 ERA.

SOUTH

SoCal Sparrows (11-8)

The Sparrows are running away with the South Division. The rotation has three terrific options.

It all starts with former player of the week Bryant Durflinger (Hope International). He has controlled the mound. He's tossed 28 2/3 innings, which is the 3rd most, and has 20 strikeouts and a 1.95 ERA.

In 26 innings of work, Josiah Austin (Vanguard) has been sensational with 17 strikeouts and a 1.08 ERA.

The third outstanding pitcher for SoCal is Andrew Nero (Colorado State Pueblo) with a 2.71 ERA in 20 2/3 innings.

Nathan Church (UC Irvine) leads the league in stolen bases with 12. He also leads the team in runs scored with 15, which is 6th best in the SBL. His .373 BA is also among the top in the league.

Grant Askins' (Loyola Marymount)13 RBI are 6th most in the SBL and lead the team.

Solana Beach Redbirds (5-13)

The Redbirds are on cruise control whenever Jay Crusemire (Virginia Wesleyan) toes the rubber. The All-Star has pitched 25 innings and struck out 17.

Caden Childress (San Francisco State) has 23 strikeouts in 20 innings of work.

Inland Valley Pirates (5-13)

John Santospago (Hope International) leads the team in runs. Cody Marshall (Hope International) leads the team in RBI. Jesse Villalobos (Citrus College) leads the team with a .370 BA.

Avery Rivera (San Bernardino Valley) has been the ace tossing 21 innings and striking out 15 with a 2.57 ERA.
