Legends vs Pirates

Long Beach Legends vs Signal Hill Oilers (LB wins season series 5-1)

Game 1, June 24th

Legends 6, Pirates 2

The Long Beach Legends took an early 2-0 lead in the 1st inning and never looked back.

Tyler Wilber finished 3-4 with two runs and one RBI. JT Navarro had two doubles and an RBI. Jake Scott added two RBI.

Keaton Freire was electric, hurling four innings of no-hit baseball. Julien Martin was also lights out in three innings of work, only allowing one hit.

Josh Arkin blasted a solo shot.

 Game 2, July 7th

Pirates 5, Legends 2

The first game of the twin billing saw Ellis Stevens lead the way for the Pirates with three hits, a home run, four RBI and one run scored.

JT Navarro knocked in both RBI for the Legends.

Jesse Gallindo starred on the mound tossing five shutout innings and only allowed two hits.

Game 3, July 7th

Legends 7, Pirates 6

This was the most exciting game of the series. A back and forth seesaw battle.

Long Beach took a 1-0 lead in the 1st and Ventura County tied it up in the bottom of the frame.

The Legends tacked on another run in the 4th to grab a 2-1 lead.

The Pirates took their first lead in the 6th scoring twice. They added two more runs in the 8th to extend the margin to 5-2.

The Pirates scored four times in the 9th to take a 6-5 lead, but Long Beach answered with one in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up.

The Legends won it in the 10th.

Colton Hector ripped three knocks, home run and two RBI. Ben Barth blasted four RBI and scored twice.

Ellis Stevens was big again for the Pirates with three hits, two RBI and one run scored. Gabriel Gonzalez added two RBI.

Game 4, July 14th

Legends 8, Oilers 7

Another exceptional game in the Legends-Pirates series. This one saw Long Beach lead 3-0 only to see the Pirates take a 6-3 lead by the 4th inning.

While the Legends tied it up 6-6 in the top of the 6th, the Pirates responded immediately with one in the bottom of the frame to make it a 7-6 ballgame. 

The Legends tied it in the 8th and regained the lead in the 9th.

Nolan Jekich and Aaron Takacs blasted home runs. Jekich finished with three hits.

Cole Kriger led the way for Ventura County with two RBI.

Chase Ambrose locked it down for the Legends with three innings of no-hit ball and four strikeouts. 

Game 5, July 22nd

Legends 6, Pirates 5

The third consecutive one-run game between these two teams. 

The Legends seemed to be in control up 5-0 in the 5th inning, but the Pirates fought back with one in the 6th and four in the 9th to knot it up at 5-5.

Long Beach walked off in the 10th.

Rafeeq Rahim blasted a home run, triple and three RBI to go along with a run scored.

Max Sterner ripped three RBI for the Pirates.

Game 6, July 25th

Legends 11, Pirates 4

Mark Stanford belted three RBI. Connor Montgomery and Nolan Jekich added two RBI apiece. Aaron Takacs had three hits and scored three times.

Austin Spinney earned the win hurling five innings and not allowing any earned runs, while striking out five.
