In six years, the Long Beach Legends have become one of the most well-respected, well-known, and best-run summer baseball teams in the Southern California area. Coach Rodriguez and his refined coaching style demands excellence from his players, while keeping an upbeat and positive mindset at all times. This allows players to grow and develop rapidly in the Legends environment.

Coach Rodriguez  has found immediate success in Southern California collegiate summer baseball. After dominating various leagues around the area since 2012, the program now competes on the national level.

Legends Win Championship

FULLERTON -- The Long Beach Legends defeated the Ventura County Pirates 5-2 in Game 2 of the SBL Championship Series at Cal State Fullerton Sunday afternoon.

The win gives the Legends a sweep and  the championship in their first season in the Sunset League.

The Legends got off to another good start, plating two runs in the first, but the Pirates answered with two in the second to tie it up.

The next three frames were scoreless until the 6th inning when the Legends scratched out one to grab a 3-2 lead.

They got two much needed insurance runs in the top of the 9th on a two-run jack by JT Navarro. He finished with two hits, three RBI and scored two runs.

Riley Livingston and Colton Hector each added one RBI.

Hunter Konechy-Pena had two hits and one RBI for the Pirates. Cole Kriger also ripped in an RBI.

 

Legends Take Game 1

The Long Beach Legends are one step closer to winning their first Sunset League Championship after defeating the Ventura County Pirates 10-3 in Game 1 of the Championship Series Saturday night at Cal State Fullerton.

Long Beach scored an unprecedented 10 runs in the first inning without an out even being recorded.

Aaron Takacs led the way finishing 3-3, with three RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Wilber bashed a couple of knocks with two RBI and scored once. Colton Hector added two hits, two RBI and one run scored.

Max Sterner (2 hits and 2 runs scored) and Gabriel Gonzalez (2 hits, 1 RBI, 1 run) starred for the Pirates.

Game 2 is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Cal State Fullerton. Game 3 will immediately follow Game 2 if necessary.
