The OC Pirates are one of the premiere collegiate baseball programs in Southern California.

Each and every year, the Inland Valley Baseball Association take the program to the next level.

As they embark on their 10th season in club history, they’ve already had plenty of success on the field and off, moving players to the next level. They've made the SBL playoffs in 2016,2017,2018,2020 and 2021.

Players come from far and wide to play at Cypress College.  In fact, some schools represented have included Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach state, University of Illinois at Chicago, UCLA, Ohio University, San Jose State, LMU, and Ole Miss.

Recent OC Pirates News


Trailing 8-5 in the bottom of the ninth, the OC Pirates rallied for three runs to send the game to extra innings.

After the Quakes Baseball Academy scored twice in the top-half of the 10th, the Pirates scored four runs to claim a 12-10 victory.

The game featured 22 combined runs, 28 hits, five errors and nine pitchers.

Half of the 28 hits were of the extra-base variety, including three home runs and 11 doubles.

The Quakes got one run off David Baruch on one hit and four walks.

Alonso Reyes (one inning) and Matthew Gonzales combined to go three scoreless innings for the Pirates.

Cole Quillin was credited the win, despite going one inning and allowing a pair of solo home runs.

Skye Selinsky walked, homered and drove in three runs for QBA.

Ethan Wolf walked twice, doubled, scored and had an RBI.

Rowan Schneider walked, singled, doubled and scored.

Diego Hernandez walked, doubled, scored twice and drove in one run.

Eric Madenberg hit a solo home run.

Joey Wright walked twice, hit a solo shot and scored a pair of runs.

The Pirates got four runs on four hits off AJ Roldan.

Roldan went four innings, walked two and fanned four.

Kenny Gallardo got the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits in three innings of work.

Gallardo walked three and struck out three OC batters.

Trevor Lukkes singled, doubled twice and scored.

Cole Quillin walked, singled, doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in a pair of runs.

Michael Mira went 4-for-6, scoring once and driving in three.

Alonso Reyes singled twice, doubled and had two RBIs.

Justin Roulston walked, doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Player of the Week: Jared Benash, Quakes Baseball Academy:

The Quakes Baseball Academy has begun Sunset League play 3-2, which has them in a four-way tie in second place, some 1.5 games back of the first-place Ventura County Bucs.

Jared Benash is off to a great start at the plate.

Benash in batting .583, going 7-12.

He has six singles, a double, two walks and two RBIs.

Benash has scored four runs, stolen one base and has an OBP of .643.

Benash had three hits apiece in wins over the Arroyo Seco Royals and the California Cage Rats.

Pitcher of the Week: Conor Burdian, OC Pirates:

The Pirates also have a 3-2 record, sitting 1.5 games back of the first-place Ventura County Bucs.

Burdian is off to a 1-0 start with a 3.00 ERA.

Burdian earned the win in a 4-2 victory over the league-leading Bucs.

He went six innings and allowed just an unearned run on five hits.

Burdian didn't issue a walk and struck out six.

In two outings (nine innings), Burdian has walked two and fanned eight.
