The Ventura County Pirates Baseball Club is a high caliber and high quality organization in the Southern California region.

Our program is coached by skilled and knowledgeable former collegiate and current MLB Scouts, dedicated to developing our players into high caliber collegiate athletes. We specialize in developmental baseball instruction for athletes wishing to compete at a higher level. We strive to help our athletes reach their personal and athletic goals and to prepare them to compete at Collegiate levels.

Our goal is simple: to develop student athletes of success and integrity. We strive to help our players serve as positive members of their team. We strive to instill a positive attitude in our athletes so they are willing to recognize the importance of mental and physical growth in the development of their baseball skills. We try to help our athletes reach their full baseball potential and meet their own personal goals.

Recent Ventura County Bucs News

Baseball:

The Arroyo Seco Royals cruised to a 12-4 victory over the Ventura County Bucs in the first round of the Sunset League playoffs.

ASR scored in each of the first five innings on Tuesday, and took a 10-1 lead.

Josh VerKuilen got the win, allowing one run on two hits over his five-inning outing.

He walked three and fanned seven VCB batters.

Kai Moran singled, homered and drove in three runs.

Tommy Italia walked, singled, doubled, scored and had one RBI.

Luke Crawshaw singled and scored.

Jakub Amado got the loss, allowing three runs on three hits.

Amado went two innings, issued three walks and striking out four.

Jonah Paez walked twice and hit a solo HR.

Blake Beckley walked, doubled, scored and had three RBIs.

Brennan Beckley walked, singled, doubled and scored.

Diego Frey walked, singled and scored twice.

Jordan Zuniga went 2-for-4, with a walk, two singles and an RBI.

Andres Garcia walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.

Alex Marquez walked twice, scored two runs and had one RBI.

Jesus Maldonado walked once and scored three runs, and Josh Hernandez walked and scored.

Up next: The Royals will face the top-seeded OC Pirates today (Wednesday) at Cypress College.

The first pitch is set for 4:30.

In the other Sunset League playoff game, the Quakes Baseball Academy will battle the Field Rats at 12:30.

The Quakes defeated the OC Legends, 8-5, in the first round.

Sunset League Players of the Week:

Jared Gener, Inland Empire Bucs:

Gener finished the final week of the regular season, going 8-for-14.

Gener had two doubles, walked and scored twice.

He drove in three runs and stole three bases.

For the season, Gener led the Bucs with a batting average of .395, with 15 hits, scored six runs and drove in four.

Thomas Keller, Ventura County Bucs:

Keller closed out the regular season, going 6-for-11.

He had three doubles and scored once.

Keller drove in four runs and stole a base.

The Bucs tied the Arroyo Seco Royals for fourth place.

VCB (13-11) and ASR (13-11) will meet up today (Tuesday), as the Sunset League playoffs open at Cypress College.

The first pitch is set for 4:30.
