The Orange County Legends were created in 2019 as a part of the Legends Baseball Club. The inaugural OC Legends season was met with much fanfare and anticipation and the team lived up to the hype with an explosive offense that set the Sunset Baseball League single-season home runs record belting 41 home runs in 45 games.
The Orange County Legends are done for the 2020 season, but will return in 2021. After the California governor issued more restrictions due to Covid in Anaheim, Brookhurst Park was closed, which forced Signal Hill to end their season.
Some of the key players from this season were John Newman (UCSB), Anthony McFarland (UC Riverside), Sawyer Chesley (Fullerton JC) and Benjamin Rodriguez (Golden West).
Newman hit .417 and blasted one home run for the season. McFarland also hit .417. Chesley hit .556.
Rodriguez didn't allow any runs in limited innings.
The OC Legends will be back in 2021, and can't wait to get back on the diamond.
We are sorry to announce Brookhurst Park has been closed indefinitely as a governor's mandate. We would like to thank the city of Anaheim for allowing the Sunset League to play there for a week.
ANAHEIM -- The Orange County Legends defeated the Long Beach Legends 10-3 on Sunday.
Orange County opened up scoring in the first inning. Brett McCauley (Oregon) doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Long Beach is back in action on Monday against the Inland Valley Pirates.
Orange County's next game is a Tuesday rematch against Long Beach.
